Macedonia, July 2018 – Balkan Green Foundation (BGF) organized the annual regional competition of the Balkan Green Ideas in Mavrovo, Macedonia. This year, the competition which gathers representatives from countries of the Western Balkans, provided them with the opportunity to present their green and innovative ideas.
By exploring the role of philanthropy, Balkan Green Ideas provides suitable development opportunities for ambitious entrepreneurs within the Western Balkans in generating green business ideas – hereby, encouraging innovation and joint progression. Moreover, BGI explores the role of philanthropy in engaging local communities to generate green business ideas that utilize local resources and revitalize disappearing traditional production chains and community-based markets.
This year, BGF awarded three prices of up to $10,000 for project implementation, where this year’s winners are:

Over the years, BGI has strongly supported the initiation and the development of more than 20 successful business ideas – which continue to thrive and be in quest for incremental growth on the local, and regional level, as well.
